SIF’s ARM programme is just around the corner and we are looking for responsible, hard-working volunteers to join our marine survey team on Aldabra between November 2025 and January 2026 (exact dates to be confirmed but approx. 2 months of work).

What we offer:

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Minimum PADI Rescue Diver certificate (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 50 logged dives
  • Dived in the past six months
  • Experience and confidence to dive in strong currents and sometimes unpleasant diving conditions (e.g., bad visibility, swell)
  • Experience in scientific underwater surveys, ideally including carrying heavy/cumbersome equipment and either coral and/or fish and/or mobile invertebrate identification skills, in the Indian Ocean, ideally in Seychelles
  • Willingness to dive up to three times per day for 5 days a week and work long-hours with multiple duties (e.g., pre- and post-dive equipment care, filling tanks, data entry, general assistance of the Aldabra team)
  • Strong team working skills
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible working schedule
  • Positive, problem-solving and outgoing character
  • Physically fit and healthy
